The 3 Blessings Most Christians Forget to Ask For (Jude 2)

Introduction: Why You Feel Spiritually Drained

Let’s be honest.

Most Christians feel tired—spiritually tired.

They’re trying to read their Bible, go to church, pray more… but they still feel worn out inside.

They think maybe something’s wrong with them.

But maybe it’s not what you’re doing.

Maybe it’s what you’re not asking for.

Jude 2 points to three supernatural blessings that God wants to multiply in your life—but most Christians never think to ask.

And when they’re missing? You feel it.

Big Idea: God Doesn’t Just Give—He Multiplies

Jude isn’t writing to unbelievers.

He’s writing to believers—to people like you.

And his prayer isn’t that they earn more or work harder.

His prayer is that these blessings would be multiplied to them.

You don’t just need mercy, peace, and love…

You need more of them, every single day.

Let’s walk through each one and see how it can change your spiritual life.

1. Ask for Mercy Daily

“May mercy… be multiplied to you.”

The word for mercy here is eleos (Greek: ἔλεος).

It means compassion for someone in need—undeserved, unearned, but freely given.

God’s mercy isn’t a leftover. It’s a lifeline.

You don’t receive it once and move on.

You need mercy like you need oxygen—constantly.

📖 Hebrews 4:16 —

“…that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

📖 Titus 3:5 —

“He saved us, not because of works… but according to His own mercy…”

God’s mercy meets you where you fail.

And here’s the miracle—He doesn’t just give it. He multiplies it.

✅ Application:

Start each day by asking for God’s mercy—not His approval.

When you sin, run to Him—not away.

💬 Reflection Question:

Are you treating mercy like a one-time gift… or a daily need?

2. Pray for Real Peace

“…peace…”

The word here is eirēnē (Greek: εἰρήνη).

It means wholeness. Calm. Rest in the middle of chaos.

Peace isn’t the absence of problems.

It’s the presence of God in your problems.

And Jude doesn’t say, “Get peace if you can.”

He prays it will be multiplied.

That means you need more peace today than you did yesterday—because life is loud, fast, and unpredictable.

📖 John 14:27 —

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you…”

📖 Isaiah 26:3 —

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You…”

Real peace doesn’t come from controlling everything.

It comes from surrendering to the One who already does.

✅ Application:

Pay attention to what’s stealing your peace—and give that to God.

Take 5 minutes a day to be still before the Lord.

💬 Reflection Question:

What if your anxiety is actually rooted in forgetting who’s in control?

3. Don’t Forget Love

“…and love…”

The word used here is agapē (Greek: ἀγάπη).

This isn’t casual love. This is God’s love—unearned, unshakable, unconditional.

Jude doesn’t assume you already have enough.

He assumes you need more.

You weren’t just saved by love.

You are sustained by it.

📖 Romans 8:38–39 —

“Nothing… will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus…”

📖 1 John 4:19 —

“We love because He first loved us.”

The deeper you root your identity in God’s love, the less approval you’ll need from anyone else.

✅ Application:

Think about how deeply God loves you—personally, not abstractly.

Let His love shape how you talk to others, forgive others, and view yourself.

💬 Reflection Question:

Is God’s love just theology to you—or the source of how you live every day?

Conclusion: What You Really Need Today

You might be praying for strength.

You might be asking God for help.

But are you asking for mercy, peace, and love?

These three things are not optional.

They’re essential.

They aren’t things you earn—they’re gifts God wants to multiply in your life:

Mercy for your past

Peace for your present

Love for your future

You don’t need to live drained.

You can walk full—if you’ll start asking for the blessings Jude 2 points to.
